No, I don't want them buildable in the game. That would be terrible. I just think it would be cool wreckage, like the unit cannon. Finding where Commanders were produced.
The idea of "Building a Commander" isn't well suited to your average game, but there are a couple of great ways to use it without it being awkward or forced. First up is as a special game mode, it's kinda of like a "wonder victory" from the Age of _____" series, but hopefully with a bit more depth/complexity than just something with a huge price tag and a countdown to victory. Its certainly something that would need to be approached seriously and designed in sufficient depth. Second, this could be put to great use in a Galactic War scenario with more impact than just a straight victory. Imagine a Galactic War between 2 clans where the number of players/commanders running around isn't limited by just how many you started with and lost up to any point. This could actually be a very important factor for GWs because suddenly it doesn't turn into a known outcome as soon as one side "takes a lead" as it were. Of course in all this the exact mechanics to creating a Commander are still unexplored, but the potential is there. Mike
It would be cool to see, maybe on the metal planet since ya know...metal...commander... would be cool
