    Great news everyone.

I have found a program that showed that my fan was set as auto, which was rubbish.

I have set it to 80% and my temp went from 70 degrees to 50 in a matter of minutes.

Some have mentioned to underclock it a bit. I have several options on this software, would anyone mind explaining what I should change? Or should it be ok to leave it as it is now I can control the temp a little more?

Core Clock - 777 MHz - about 4/5th the way from max
Memory Clock - 1126 MHz - about 2/3rds from max

    Thanks

    Steve

You only need to underclock it if you have overheating problems even with 100% fan speed, or if you don't like noise of GPU fan.

Leave it as it's now, you can always do that later if you met any problems. Usually it's not required.

    Well....

It lasted 20 mins. The temp was 64 degrees stable with 100% fan, and had same complete failure.

Any suggestions on what I can try now?

    Thanks again for your help!

Noticed your Core2 Quad was running at 60+ in the temp screen shot. That's not good. Does the CPU still spike that temp?

No, core 2 is actually the coolest around 48-51 right now. Cored 0 and 1 are spiking around 55.

Ill see if i can get a few extra fans installed. I'm gonna run the graphics card at 50 degrees for a while.

When I turned the fan up on the graphics card, I was stunned, as I had never heard that fan before, which means that this pc has been running this graphics card at 70 degrees for 5 years. This computer is never turned off. Long term heat damage might be the cause I think.

Try to underclock both GPU core and memory for 20-25% and make same testing.

This whole overheating is not the problem. To check it, just stress your PC with whatever stress programm. If it freezes you have indeed a overheating problem. If not, perfect your system is not overheating easely.

There is another guy having the same freezing error with linux. The only common thing I could find was the Radeon 3800 Series graphic adapter.

Here is his error report: http://pa.lennardf1989.com/Tracker/...k_id=1587&status[0]=8&order=history&sort=desc

If you vote there, hopefully they will adress this problem in the near future.

Sorry, but "guy on Linux" have Nvidia videocard and you have AMD card, so it's really different issue.
It's not something Uber can fix, only your hardware vendor can fix it if it's problem with their drivers.

Also, for stress testing I recommend Unigine Benchmarks:
    https://unigine.com/products/benchmarks/
They all have OpenGL mode, so you can check it with nearly same functions PA using.

Damn. Ok obviously i remembered wrong. Still my PC is not overheating at all and I have the same error. And you could still Vote for this http://pa.lennardf1989.com/Tracker/...k_id=1587&status[0]=8&order=history&sort=desc

Why not. If there programming is sloppy because they concentrate on features and not stability and performance. It's still an Alpha.

Vote, it's worth a try and you have nothing to lose.

Everthing else, like overheating, is wild speculation which can be excluded by stress testing your system. That's all I wanted to say.

Why not? Because overheating of your hardware it's not game bug. When you have overheating support you need to clean/repair/replace your hardware yourself, or ask help for technical support if you don't want do it yourself.

Even if it's happen not because of overheating, but because of bad ATI/AMD drivers it's still not game bug. Uber can't fix it.

Voting for Linux-specific and probably drivers related problem won't help you get game working. You need to create your own task on bug tracker, for Windows and AMD drivers.

Stress test didn't make it flinch.

Well, I just bought a new cheap graphics card instead. If it does not work ill just get a cheap power supply - radeon 7750 2gig - not bad for under a hundred :)

Will also look at some extra cooling for CPU

    Good news everyone!

I have completed a game, and it did not crash!

Still had to manually turn the fan up on the GPU, but the max it went to was 55 degrees while playing.

Thanks to everyone who helped establish the problem, and assisting me in remedying it!

Hope to see you all in the game :)

Please post a Dxdiag so we can check obvious things. That setup should be fine...

My friend had the exactly the same issue with a lenovo computer. He tried everything.. updating drivers, reinstalling windows, updating bios.. nothing helped.. he discovered it was an issue with the notebook model, lenovo gave his money back and now he bought a dell.
Hope this is not your case.

I was having similar issues with the game crashing, no computer freeze. Found out that my AMD FX4100 CPU is overheating to over 80 C. Too hot! That's with a Hyper212 Heatsink and 120MM fan. Does this game use a lot of CPU processing, or are there settings in the game that I can change? Also in the video settings there is nothing for Display Size. I am running 4024x1024.

That heatsink isn't mounted right, or your fan settings are wrong. Yes the CPU is used significantly, but it should only max it on loading planets and a few other events. As for display size, the game has no options. You can have the game reduce its rendered resolution down to 50%, or up to 175%. It defaults to the desktop resolution.
