    I was just on my way to the forums to ask about this. Have they been scrapped? Also, fab subs, Like in BETA?

    No, its bloody pointless without a deck cannon to use on the surface like a U-boat.

    Subs have no need whatsoever to surface in PA, or Supcom for that matter.

    What a pointless ability.

    What's the point of a sub that doesn't dive? An unterseeboot without the "unter" is just a normal boat.

    well in beta i always used subs as a "Glass cannon" it was fun! :p

    Tactical nuke sub!
    I'd be cool if subs never surfaced... I mean it is the future & as far as I can tell, carbon based life is the only reason we have submarines that surface at all these days. But robots and stuff.

    Me neither. I just added them in my naval mod as a close range rapid dps naval only unit. Opposed to cannon units that are slow strong-hit anti-land. Your ships then can get rushed by cheap fast torpedo hoardes. You can still defend them with some torpedo defenders, some torpedo turrets, a combat fabber, some naval mines, ect.

    Subs were worthless back in beta. I want them back but they need to be done right, and that's up to Uber to figure out. As far as I know, they should be added in eventually.

    there where weak but powerful i took out a naval base with battleships uesing subs :p i had to have a LOT of subs but..ya....:p

    Maybe make them like in supcom fa? subs>frigates>destroyers>subs . Frigates+destroyers should still win against same cost of only frigates or only destroyers ofc, but maybe not against the same cost of only subs.

    Idk, I was alright with subs being the dominant unit of anti-naval.

    They can't attack land anyway. As long as they can't, cool.

    Then of course, torpedo turrets prevent subs from being good against naval establishments, and then ships outrange subs. There are mines in the water now, those could use an improvement like total invisibility for reasonable cost and damage, as well as cost decrease for combat fabs.

    They also can't attack air. If bombers can bomb subs, that is also easy peasy.

    -Really, subs just need to be medium armor, cheap, fast, high dps. They can't hit land
    -Frigates need to be cheap and medium armor, but able to attack air and land.
    -gunboat is a good addition. It needs to be cheap, light armor, really fast, and able to attack land
    -ships need to be more expensive and heavy armor, and able to attack seafloor and land, but attack with powerful slow shots so can be swarmed and killed for a cheaper cost. This is the unit that also brings the hurt to land after all, and for that it could use it's old damage and a range increase rather than more damage at current range. 180-200 range isn't so bad.
    -torpedo turrets should cost as much as a ship, have ship health, 20 range more than a ship, and the damage of a ship at twice the fire rate.
