Hey everyone! so as you read and clicked on this you see that im thinking of doing something big.

My idea for the PCS is this:

Series of four tournaments open to Uber Tier ranked players.

64 Max contestants divided into the four tournaments to have 16 players per event.

The tournament you are placed in is based off your rank in uber, this means that rank 1 is in group 1, rank 2 is in group 2, rank 3 in 3 and so on. trickling down to rank 64 being in group 4.

Top 4 from each tournament will get a spot in the Championship

Every tournament including the championship will be Best of 3 Single elimination, the semifinals and final of the championship will be best of 5.

Only one account per contestant. since you can only play one account in the finals you can have more then one account going for a spot.

There will be a cut off date that all seeds are based out of, lets say for example june 1st. so in order to enter you would have to obtain Uber Tier and achieve the highest rank possible by the cut off date. top 64 uber rank players take preference not counting multiple accounts. so if the top 64 of the ladder are actually only 55 people because 9 accounts are people with already with an account in top 64 then it will trickle down.

I believe I can have atleast a 500$ prize pool for the top 4 of the Championship if not more if people want to donate and bulster the pot.

Timeline wise i think the competitive are needs to grow before i can set definite date but somewhere between april-june for the cut off date, and the tournament would be 4 weekends in a row for the qualifying events and the championship would be two weeks after tournament 4 is finished.

The tournament would be set on Vanilla Balance, (no server mods)

rules are simple, win, the casters would have a far enough delayed stream to where stream watching unsportsmanlike as it is would have no effect, (5 minutes delay?)

Would need a team of 2-4 casters, two sets of dual casting teams in my mind would be preferable. also would need a group of 2-4 Annalists that are High Plat-Uber ranked players with a deep understanding of the game, contestants that are in the Qualifying stage may be annalists but if they make championships there spot will be filled.

Time and day of the week these tournaments will probably be the standard Saturday 1600 UTC that most tournaments have been hosted on in the past.

I will be if this gets past an idea stage would look to get sponsors for this event and drum up enough money so get the stream of the event for the championships on twitch.tv front page.

things that need to happen for this event to happen:
-leaderboards expanded to see all of each tier.
-balance to get to a stable point
-competitive area of PA and casual interest in watching PA getting more strength.
-dedicated group of people willing to help organize, cast, and be annalists.

Please remember this is all in the idea stage and may never get out of the idea stage. also i do relize in the current times there is not even 64 uber players. I am aiming this tournament to start somewhere in june 2015, by then i hope that people playing ranked moves from around 1200 now(currently ranked accounts) to somewhere near 5-10 thousand. I know that is a lofty goal but I do love this game and I want to see who is the number 1 in the world with some major competition to get the best out of all the players out there.

Think your grouping idea is wrong. The number 1 should play number 64 number 2 play 63 to open things off that way there is a better chance of more top players in final. ......or I'm I misinterpreting something?

It would just suck if say rank one took out rank 16 in first game. ..

Hey! Can we have less L33t tourneys and more casual-oriented ones? I know all of us UBER DUDES are quite good and we've all proven it many times over. Why not give someone else a chance?

So a repeat of the Community Cup (http://exodusesports.com/tournament/community-cup/rules/) where we banned all the good ones at that time. I would definitely be up to do that again some time in the future.

I think maybe we should host at least one of the fixtures later to give the team burning guys a chance to participate. Maybe talk to @mishtakashi to work out a sensible time, 10pm UTC works OK as that's about 10am in the morning for them and also around lunch time in the US I believe. They have quite a few Uber players so I'm sure quite a few of them would be up for this....

I'll privately fund 500 USD. Others can donate also if I move forward with this. And if I move forward get a site or an area of a site made for this with all the info on it I'll start looking for sponsors. Privately I think just with donations and my initial money we could do 1000 maybe. 600 250 100 50 as the break down among top 4?

That's allot of your own cash to offer up, I mean very generous of you but are you sure?

If your looking for donations I could probably chip a bit in (as we're talking next year :p). Perhaps we could spread the cost a bit wider so you don't need to put half of it up yourself.

This would be pretty nice for bringing in the eye of the professional esports crowd at least.

Power to you @reptarking now let's just get a huge stream so it'll be on the front page of Twitch. :)

ill do a minimum of 200 if it gets past 1000, so once it makes it 1k the next 300 will just make my initial funding smaller. idk. i can see where i am financially in march - april but im guessing i should be just fine

Yes please! If the tournaments aren't happening at the exact same time I would love to be an analyst or caster for the tournaments I am not in. Analyst caster? :) let me know if I can help in any way.

*sobbing* Thank you. Some love for the Australasian community. We have some players who have a decent shot at winning so I would love for them to be able to enter.

Also now that the rankings have settled down quite a lot could do Uber tournament, Platinum tournament, Gold tournament, Silver tournament and Bronze tournament. Would be a nice way for players of respective ranks to have competitive games in their own skill level. It would really help if uber published full ranking lists for this.

    This needs to happen! :)

I think visibility (promotional videos, advertising, main page at Twitch...), good casting (professional standards and serious treatment of the whole event, like @ZaphodX or @wpmarshall in their best days ;) together with an analyst, just look at any big SC2 tournament casting for a good example to follow) and good event organisation (timed interviews... I don't know how crazy it may be but maybe having a "show" arround the tournament with the casters being physically at the same place in some sort of PA-themed stage) are more important than big amouts of money.

I agree is good to be friendly to the Australasian timetables, we could even use this event to try to promote the game in the Asian countries by trying to contact some gaming media of those countries, I am sure many koreans will be interested in pwning people in PA.

Getting the casters in the same place and setting up an actual show is expensive. I know $500 sounds like a lot but just getting everyone in one place and setting up an event venue is going to be $5000 at the cheapest. Production quality would still be low, too.

The best I think you will ever get is this.

Of course, if you need to bring people from around the globe then it will be very expensive but, actually, I was thinking that maybe most of the casters/people involved in the "show" were based in the same country (UK?) so getting together was not a problem.

In any case, even if the event happens entirely online, I think a good production is important, specially if the effort to get Twitch main page is made.

Right now i have no ambitions to try and get everyone in the same place. the main casters of the community are all in the UK which is easier to do but that still would be asking them to take days off work and or studying that they might not have time for. doing weekend tournaments and streaming for a day already takes up alot of time and effort but asking them to travel the day before and after the championship alone would be in my mind asking a bit much,

If i wanted to persue something as ambitious as that I would think about starting a kickstarter for this event, and having 1000$ of the KS being just travel expenses for the UK guys to all get together and for the championship.
a Kickstater can not do anything towards the prize pool as far as i know since that would against there terms of use. but other things a KS could do for this would be talking to some companies and getting a nice backdrop made of a screenshot blown up with PCS on it and all the other affilaited groups. for example and just for example Exodus, Uber, Twitch, Razor. and other companies.
