Idea: Increase movement speed of the spinner (Ground AA)

    I think a little bit more movement speed would be really great for the spinner. Or at least I think that the spinner should be faster than the bolo, since it would be able to outrun them and a retreat from an enemy tank army should be possible.

    At least, in my Opinion, the AA should somehow be buffed since Air is extremely mobile and the only possible viable way to counter a massive air army is also having one. That's my opinion at least, what do you guys think?

    With the new PTE the ground AA is quite strong now as it's focusing down bombers, but in general I like your idea. Also it would make sense, that a AA truck is faster than a tank. But probably it will be too strong if both of this are included together.

    this, having no reasonable AA for bots is plain bad.

    Because having multiple units for multiple things is a good thing. Otherwise we should just remove all units but the dox and give the dox the ability to do everything.

    I don't think bringing back the stinger is a good idea. Sure, we need multiple units for multiple things, and another ground anti air that fulfills exactly the same purpose as the current one wouldn't fit. Also, if Uber brings back the Stinger, dox rushes will get stronger since you can simply put in 3 or 4 Stingers and no bomber could stop them.

    Well, at least thats what I think :p

    Stingers could become pot shot aa (the type of aa dox are now), be a bit slower than the dox, have less health (is that even possible?) And be more accurate so they don't miss as often as the dox does now. Also take away dox aa.

    I am not saying the should work the same way as vehicle aa. I am saying there can be 2 different aa units for different purposes:
    a) defend large scale attacks with high fire power, but be slow
    b) defend small raids by being as fast as dox and able to pick of a few bombers, but be too weak for bigger assaults

    that's the difference between tanks and dox as well, isn't it?

    dox should not be aa, they are ground fighters.
    Also you can't be serious to add in hummingbirds ships and buildings into that list. That kinda implies you want only a single aa unit. By that logic you should also only have a single ground fighter. The dox kinda is that already, so why not just have the dox do everything and remove all other units?
    It's beyond me why it is necessary to argue for why we need a real aa unit instead of a multi purpose unit.
    The whole points is that there are different types (tanks, bots, ships, etc) of units in the game and every type should have a useful aa unit. The dox is far away from being a useful aa unit.

    for one to tone down needless complexity, to avoid as much unitredundancy as possible to have a propper reason to mix types of units up propperly .. add more units you will make ballancing more complicated and raising the learningcurve for begginners even more ...

    this isnt wh 40k with 25 leman russ variants ... and it shouldnt be

    Adding a new unit doesn't increase the learning curve that much. Especially if it's just an AA bot.

    Those are valid arguments, but I don't agree on putting them above having a little unit diversity. PA has not enough of that already imho.
    A bot aa also should have a very different function as I said. Bots need an aa unit that matches with bots and bots are fast. Mixing bots with a slow poke vehicle aa basically removes the advantage that bots should have so you might as well not build them at all or just accept that air will shred them.

    That's not really a learning curve... That's just experimenting. It's more of a learning curve that dox have AA because it's kind of counter-intuitive.

    what the dox is is being a jack of all traits master of none kind of unit ... you can spam it like crazy and win some few matches ... if however you play against a well experienced player who knows the propper counters then dox only is immidiatly invalidated ...

    Ok that would probably work out. The only two problem I can see with that solution are:
    • Dox rushes with a couple of fast bot AA would probably be a thing that can't be stopped by bombers
    • The vehicle AA as an slow moving AA would somehow replace/get replaced by static ground AA
    I don't really think we need another moving AA in PA, some tweaks for the current one would be fine by me, but we'll see what the priority of the players think :)

    That's also really boring. one unit shouldn't do EVERYTHING. I'm ok with a general 2 maybe 3 roles, but the dox can do everything. They can even scout still, just not as effectively anymore.

    id may do everything but it doest do it particularly well ...
    also almost any flyer or fast mobile unit can be used as a scout ...
    even orbital transports can be used as scout ... sooo meh
