fixing a few crashes and adding a "surrender" button based on feedback from you guys.
Will update when we have it up, just thought I'd give a heads up.

    Patch notes below:
    Build 75655-pte

    • Fix for AI building structures that blocks metal spots
    • Fix for System Designer crash - Mass of orbiting planet being larger than planet it is orbiting (was partially fixed before, this handles it slightly better)
    • Metal planet symmetry now enabled
    • Vehicle factory explosion size set to 1.0 instead of 2.0
    • Added KS name to Tokamaktech Commander
    • Localization pass for menus
    • Replays screen UI reformated to be consistent with other loading screens
    • Fix for crash - AI was sending a unit killed message too long after a planet has been destroyed
    • Added a Surrender button (not available in replays)
      • Surrender takes you to game over screen allowing chronocam viewing

Good. But, how about those balance passes? Grenadiers made cheaper or useable in general? Combat Fabricators made cheaper or useable in general? I have always disagreed with the literally 30000 health of advanced structures as well, 20000 would be better if not 15000. Adv scaled up way bigger with x3 compared to what basic got x3. Then, the nuke could get reduced to 16500 damage and commander armor to .66. And Ubercannon armor of .4 on buildings can be reverted, that was added before the x3 structure health update, if reverted the ubercannon still does less damage to buildings than when implemented. The nerf against other commanders can stay if you like. That, and the mandatory eco, and lack of commander AA, were reasons pelican were dropped to t2 air in the first place, so pelican COULD return to t1 air as well.

Puhlease consider these things guys. Some of this stuff is obvious and legacy-change-overlap that needs reverted, you should have kept change notes and unchanged it the second you changed something else anyway. It is embarrasing the longer you leave some of these changes in.

To make this simple, here is the f'n list:
-grenadiers in-use, suggest cost similar to "bots" like 80-100
-combat fabs in-use, suggest costing similar to a "t1 unit" at all, like 200-350.
-t2 structures got way too much health from x3 compared to basic, reduce by 1/3 (INCLUDES ORBITAL FACTORY)
-reduce nuke damage if reduce t2 health, to 22000, and change commander nuke armor to 0.5
-Change commander ubercannon armor to structures to 1.0 AKA remove it, since structures got a massive buff since it was added in the first place it is no longer needed.
-OPTIONAL: change the pelican back to t1 since commander has AA, commander no longer needs eco which drops can snipe, structures got buffed, aa turret got range buff, ect...

This is for bugfixes in current live build. Hoping to get it out live in a day. We wouldn't rush a balance change out that fast without more testing.

Ah. Okay. I thought this was a serious PTE for future advancement, not late patches to the last stable.

If this is a patch to make current stable more stable, than it does it's purpose. You are correct.

    And, again, it looks good.

Can't wait to see what the next goals are for expansion after stablization of current is complete. 2v2 matchmaking would be excellent. Dem balance changes would be nice, again the ubercannon isn't even balancing as much as legacy change revert. It was added, then something else was added and both fixed same situation, one can be undone. It would be like China continuing to expand building onto the Great Wall, despite it's purpose no longer existing.

Those are larger fixes and will be in next major build. This build is mainly for the crash we had and the surrender button.

Are you sure you shouldn't? In my opinion balance changes should be rushed to PTE, but not to vanilla. :)

Yeah, it seems to me like that would be a great way to test it.

Balance changes will hit PTE once they are ready.. The way builds work though is if we push a build to PTE, that same stuff goes live. AKA we can not test these bug fixes and balance at same time. Else we would have to sit on bug fixes until balance was ready to go live.

We'll get the bug fixes out, then we can start pushing balance changes to PTE.

C... Can you paste csg for that anywhere? Like even on other planets?

C... Can I build a metal planet with symmetrically divided 14 lasers on it?

...Like a motherf***ing laser funball MNC Annihilator??

Awesome map, 9 individual players, 9 individual spawn planets, 1 metal-less size 1400 metal planet with 14 annihilasers on it. Be everyone going for different sets of control points just jerking the planet around firing their lasers at all the spawn planets everywhere...

I doubt you can. From what I have seen the lasers are not CSG, but "magic" features. And since there is no way to specifically place features you can't do it.

Metal points symmetry now, don't they? They are "placement features" like control points. So you'd think...

But if you could place any "placement features" or even add your own to the engine and generation, that would be niiice...

I am too lazy to explain it now, need to sleep, but the short version is: There is magic in there and it shines through how the system developed (like in alpha mex really where just features, but they added native magic code on top to make it do what it does now. Not mod friendly sadly)

Not to mention that the logic that handles firing the laser may be independent from how many control points are where.
