Just installed windows 10, and it must be a good day for PA as it set my default settings to medium, my computer! Medium!

Now to set it to low, just in case...

Oh yeah, the technical preview has been out for a while. It's really great, start button I'd back, multiple desktops are a thing, etc...

    I'm not sure, I haven't run it with 8.1.

I wouldn't be surprised if it ran better than Windows 7 though. :p

Yeah windows 8.1 is already a bit quicker in everything than windows 7. So I hope windows 10 will be even better ;)

Windows 7 and 8.1 are parity for gaming performance on the same hardware given they are essentially based on the same kernel. Windows 10 also hasn't significantly changed the kernel so I wouldn't expect much difference.

There have been many tests comparing windows versions and essentially so long as the same graphics path and memory is available on both configurations then performance is within a few % of each other.

I'd prefer the start button being gone. Waste of space.

    Start menu? That's another matter.

I never tested it. But now I think of i, I've bought a 144hz screen when I upgraded to 8. That is probably the cause of everything looking a lot faster/smoother :p

I believe Windows 8 and (Maybe?) windows 10 just handles RAM usage a teeeeny bit better.

There was a joke or theory/internal microsoft dev thing going about that they skipped it because too many applications searched for 'windows 9' to check if the OS was either windows 95 or 98. Although im pretty sure this is mainly limited to Java apps.
