Just a place to share fun screenshots not too terribly related to a particular mod. The game, of course, isn't set up for this; I can paste things more places than I can get them properly; building is very limited, and pathing is spotty, but transports can move things between many planes.
So close to flatland... And yet so far... Mex are actually on the surface of the planet, below the brush, and are unbuildable. Pathing crashes the server.
I was trying to use a giant subtractive brush and a giant additive brush to create a more traditional bordered map. However, the game makes a lot of assumptions about planets being spheres with a surface roughly at the radius.
if we could set water height as high as we wanted, you could make a very large lava planet with water height 100 (so that the entire planet is unbuildable), and then add in a brush at a specific location (in planet type, not biome type) to mimic flatland. Well, maybe. Also, metal planet has some better flat land brushes than that desert biome one, in my opinion.
73532: Flatland is no longer crashing, but you can only spawn and create slider-controlled mex on the original planet surface (these metal spots are all features) Also, if you take out most of a planet, there is now a tiny core. For scale, you can see it below and just to the right of the coms in the above picture.
Spiderweb cracks. Land units need not apply. Shrink them some more and it seems the standard grid is still at work.
Renamed from CSG Hacking. Because now I've got decals. I clearly need to be more refined in my selection.
Assuming you have a map pool with other planets that are vastly different: Where is the issue with that?
