I posted in someone else's threat because the problem sounded similar to mine, but I felt like I might hijack his problem, so I'm reiterating here. Since the path on Friday whenever I try to join a multiplayer game or host one, I am met with a message that says "Login to server rejected" and am booted back to the main menu. I also made sure it wasn't my firewall reacting to some change in the last patch by shutting it off entirely when I tried to make a lobby and still got booted out.
What OS are you on? So you managed to play normally before last week's patch? You are able to log in using the UberLauncher (or Steam), but then you can't start or join games? Or does it already fail while trying to log in?
If playing on a Mac, are you able to go to Settings > Server > Local Server and turn it OFF? If not on a Mac, what program do you use for your internet security?
I use windows 8 and just the standard windows defender. I'm able to do single player games just fine, but even when I just straight up turned off my firewalls it gave the same result. And I sign in and launch from the ubernet launcher just fine.
Well, PA uses ports 9000-9100 to connect to the Uber servers, so make sure those aren't blocked by either your router or your computer. The fact that you can log in fine seems to suggest that PA is at least able to make some connections to the outside world, which means that something is specifically blocking the port range I just mentioned.
Wow, haven't had to go into port forwarding since Warcraft 3! hah Unfortunately I just tried as of this morning opening those ports and turning off the firewall again and I still am "rejected"
It's kind of baffling what's blocking that port range for you. How are you connected to the internet? Your computer is connected to a router, which in turn is connected to a cable/adsl modem? If so, can you try connecting your computer directly to the modem to see if the router is maybe doing something funky?
@Mederias: This person had the exact same problem as you: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/cant-join-create-lobby-unless-its-a-lan-lobby.65900/ Weirdest problem ever though in that case, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. By the way, when you got to [SERVER] -> [SETTINGS], can you pick servers such as USCentral?
Yep, I can totally pick server regions. And unfortunately I don't have his fix, I only have one source of internet and it has stayed the same over the last several months.
Can you post a PA log? They can be found in "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log" On a typical install %LOCALAPPDATA% will be C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local Just delete them all, start PA, try to join/host a game, close PA and upload the newly created log here.
Huh: So, apparently you can connect just fine, but ultimately the Uber servers itself reject you. I was going with the assumption that rejection on a network level, instead of on account level. @mkrater : Could there be something odd with this person's account?
Yeah I know, that's what I've been saying, I didn't think it was on my end. I appreciate your help deathbydenim, but I think I really need a support representative...
It looks like you may have some mods installed. Can you try disabling them, log into the game again, and posting a new log after trying to connect to an online server?
