Agreed. Now all uber has to do is make small maps fun too.

small maps would be fun to, if had choke points for wall offs, i am sure we would see tier 2 on them as well.

honestly, even with choke points, the game would probably be over before you got to T2...

The game would most definitely be over before you got out of the early game.

Air needs some balance first. On small maps the dox are op, on big ones air is op.

Just played foerest on his size 1300 metal planet. about the only thing missing was nukes, but orbital and t2 both were used plenty.

Must remember how to proxy properly - its been a while. Oh and build flaks to stop bomber snipes

Can you post some vids of you playing on big maps as example. That game against zykey where you went t2, t1 tanks, air , bots and orbital was awesome.

Really? For me, big maps are boring and small maps are awesome.

Well, you got a point. Big maps are much slower but you can do a lot more tactics which a lot of people like. On small maps less units are viable and there is more micro. Some will like the more micro intensive games on small maps and others will like the more macro games on big planets. If you balance so more units are viable on small maps (making the grenadier usefull for example) and get more choke points on planets (and other terrain features that add to gameplay) you get the best of two worlds though. Exciting fast games with a lot of different tactics.

The mega base strategy is why big maps are fun.

Finally people start to see that the reason balance if off or in better word, feels off, is because of the lack of map assets and features and not so much about unit balance in and of itself. although it needs some tweaks.

Can't speak to 1v1s as I don't play them, but I played a 2v2v2 on a big metal planet tonight and it was awesome. Yeah, bots were important early on but tanks had supplanted them by minute 5-7 and we saw t2 around minute 10. I got ganked by a very skill full combo teleporter-boom bot snipe.

I dunno today I played like 8 or 9 maps, they were not boring when playing someone decent, we would both get to tier 2 at least, orbital and even nukes happened in my 1v1`s today.

Yep! Couldn't agree more, I love playing on big planets when I have the time for a longer game. You can actually use t2 tech and even orbital for a single planet (dat radar coverage...) when it is big enough to justify it.

    errrrr????

I may be wildly out of line here (and I do love big maps) but isn't balance currently worse on big maps then on small maps?

Not really.. The 4 core units are allready really well balanced and need minor tweaks. Larger planets just give player the oppertunity to use T2 and orbital and nukes because they cant be rushed down in the first 4 minutes.
