Reconnecting to old/dead games breaks ranked 1v1

So, I played a 3v3 game, then jumped into a ranked 1v1. When it loaded the solar system, PA crashed (on OSX PA crashes about 20% of the time at this point), so I relaunched and it prompted me to reconnect. When I clicked reconnect, instead of bringing me to the ranked 1v1 match it brought me to the completed 3v3 game.

This has always been a problem with the reconnect feature, but does it affect my ranking in ranked 1v1 play?

Yeah, it affected my rank. Dropped to Platinum.

I get the same problems on my Mac, still the crash rate is slightly higher. On topic though, i was trying to introduce my brother in law to the game, and just as we were about to nuke the second AI the game dropped. I couldn't even find how to reconnect? Is there a button of something?

Provided it wasn't the server that crashed, PA will offer you the choice to reconnect after restarting PA.
