Toothpaste does not work! For cleaning i use monitor cleaner in spray bottle form and even a lint free cloth for cleaning monitors and flat screen tvs. Havnt really found a good way to fix scratches other then a video store with the 2000$ scratch remover machines that charge 3-5$
Washing up liquid works very well for dirty disks. Usually that circumvents the scratches for me for some reason.
tiny bit of toothpaste rubbing from center to outside (not in a circle) works but it makes it look worse.
