This probably wouldn't be an issue for anyone else, but as I use a prepaid internet service (like, $50 for 3GB), and my wireless connection otherwise doesn't work at all, so a ~1.2GB download for the latest client build/patch to actually start playing the game would hit me for almost half of my total data. Is there any way to directly download the latest build, and then transfer the file(s) and install the patch on a different computer?

Actually you can install and run PA launcher on different computer and then copy game data from "stable" or "PTE" sub-directory.

Also can you clarify why do you exactly need latest client now?

I'm ask because if you play single-player on PlayFab servers or in multiplayer then game will likely eat all your 3GB bandwidth extremely fast because game using 2-4.5Mbps depend on amount of units you have on screen.

    OK, that makes sense.

There apparently aren't any regions available for my build version. I bought it on disk just very recently, so it's probably a long way behind in that regard.

Yeah, that was something I was afraid of. See, I wasn't aware 'offline mode' *really* meant 'online mode, just without other players'.

EDIT: Actually, this is probably an issue with the version I've actually got right now not being updated to the October 9th update, and so not being able to play offline at all. That's what I need the update for.

You can check for more details how PA offline mode works here:

If you want to play completely offline for sure just run PA.exe directly and do not login into PlayFab.
Then you'll only able to use local server.

Ah, thank you very much for that. I actually figured that 'workaround' out on my own; I've checked, however, and I'm certain that the version I'm running isn't patched to the October update that actually allows offline play, so unfortunately I'm still going to need to update it first.
That said, I'm fairly sure that answers everything I needed to know. Thanks!
