I have managed to make a system that has two planets that intersect immediately before you pick your spot. It cuts them in half. The file is attached for the system designer. (in the zip file) Can anyone improve on this? Perhaps there is a way to use planets hitting each other to make a the shape we want. I would be interested to see what improvements can be made. Thanks!!!
I bet you know what happens. Cool stuff, they fly over the empty space. Too bad there wasn't a way to block air pathing. That is a pretty cool way to create a flat map however, get a size 2000 map and adding mesh-subtraction in the form of large craters, to make a surface area mostly-square and about the surface area of a 400 planet.
I was messing with this a long while ago but the system editor was pretty frustrating to work with. It's important not to have the planets getting crushed as spawn planets because the spawn generator doesn't take the newly destroyed terrain into consideration.
By now you have a preview of the spawn locations. So I guess you can make it work out that the spawns are all in undamaged area.
Cool! It's been awhile. You also have to make sure the collisions are all before spawn or else it's instant GG. Can you move spawns though? I'm at work so i can't experiment until later. I tried doing this with two opposing-orbit planets but because of the whole "rotating axis" thing one of the planets would collide again at other end of the orbit.
Just check the option to select anywhere for commander landing. Then have everyone stay on their respective team's side such as east vs west.
Last time I spawned on the crater my commander was a live and suspended there, but he couldn't do anything/move.
