So I'm wanting to stream this game. I have done in the past and I have used external programs for doing so and not the in game functionality. Recently due to my outdated graphics card I had to install PA on a linux partition to get everything working properly. Which is causing me problems when I want to stream. I'm a fairly tech savvy guy but my knowledge on Linux is very limited and as a result I have been unable to get streaming software working on Linux. The initial reason I wanted to stream not using the in game functionality was because in game it only lets me stream at 720 (thats the only option) but recently I have noticed that one of the bitrate options has in brackets (recommended for 1080). Is it possible to stream in 1080 using the in game functionality? I have seen other streamers via you tube (like zaphod) have 1080 video quality but also have th twitch chat in game. But from my end I cant see that as possible. Does anyone know anything about this?
You can sign in to your twitch to show the chat and use an external program like OBS to actually stream. Typically 1080p isn't so good because a lot of people don't have sufficient internet to watch it.
Ahh thanks Zaphod. I hadn't thought that just signing in would show the chat. Regards to streaming quality? My viewers in the past have been able to select the quality they watch at. And I have always endeavored to give the highest quality possible for those who do want that high quality. Still. Now just to wait for things to become linux functional.
