What happened? When I press the button to open the console only a little command promt on the bottom shows up, instead of the full console on the top...
Full console would be very much welcome for a much needed competitive feature. The good old status screenshot to ensure that only legal players were fielded.
The "playerlist" command showed steam ID numbers, so in a match you could use those to verify player IDs, and make sure a team isn't using a ringer. "Legal" meaning within the tournament or ladder rules for which players are allowed to play in a match.
A ringer is a substitute not listed in the official roster. Some people take offense to that in official matches - hence the necessity for a nice console style screenshot. The current method isn't really legible.
Thank you for the explanation, but ... wait a moment, you have the intention to make this a ESWC game or what?
Lol, good luck with that... From what I've seen (and read) we'll be lucky if this game's playerbase isn't dead in 3 months from now...
Just browse the forums (these and steam's) and read what people say ingame. It's full of whiners and a huge amount of people has already quit playing (mibuwolf. ). If you watch the amount of players on the servers you will also notice (on weekends. i guess the situation is even worse on weekdays) that it has decreased a lot since the game was released. Obviously I'm talking about pubs. I don't care about private matches.
Just a guess but the lack of players and player quitting may have something to do with their team getting dominated a lot. I only play on pub servers (no time for competitive gaming these days) and find that teams are pretty lop sided a lot of the time. IE if a side wins easily they all select to be on the same side again next map so they can just pillage the other team again. Sure there are times when it isn't but when you are on a side that is getting hardcore base camped, and just rolled over and over by a team of more experienced/better players I can definitely see how people could go "this sucks, im going back to tf2/cs/mw2 etc etc" Might be nice if there was an ability to change teams during a match - prior to this my gaming time was spent on TF2 and if a side was getting dominated I would typically switch to that team to help them out. I cant do that on MNC short of quitting to the menu and rejoining the server. Anyway, just my 2c Cheers Beast
Normally the game itself brings the top player to the other team if the team is dominating. I've been brought to the other team a lot of times, and I lost the ridiculous amount of money I invested in turrets in my previous team's base.
