Honestly I have talked to people directly using that word in a friendly manner. I could have sworn they used it first. Although, who knows what people consider offensive anymore.

Really, I don't have -too- much issue with it, but I know people who do, and a lot of the people who tend to use the word are using it because they're a**holes.

I'm not sure I'd consider anybody from before PA a nice human being, so I doubt it'd make much of a difference. Lots of cool people, but I wouldn't call them nice human beings by a Longshot™. And it's not like any of the PA people have 1:1 like ratios anyways.
