Unplayable Game on iMac

I have yet to have the game be playable on my 27" iMac. The game is EXTREMELY slow to the point where the game is just unplayable.

2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
12GB Ram
2TB HD
Mavericks 10.9.5

I have a friend with similar setup, runs fine. What can I do to make the game I backed/payed for work?

Do you mean units are moving slow or FPS is low?

If it's about performance then try to set "resolution scaling" to less than 100% and check it again.

Did you notice this post? There is some good Mac debugging going on there.

Tried the above, still not working...

I just tried uninstalling the app in steam, then deleting the Uber Entertainment folder from my /library/application support and then reinstalling. No difference. I get a spinning beachball every few seconds. It stops, spins, stops, spins, etc. This is in single player mode even...
