While I love the traditional join a server and get put to team, it seems I am unable to play consistently with friends on my team. And when I had initially bought the game, that's what we had wanted to do, play on the same team together. But instead we get trolled by people that want to try to just mess us up when we choose our preferred team, and then end up playing against each other with a less enjoyable experience.

Now adding a matchmaking system to the game wouldn't require anything to change with the normal server lists, it would only require adding two additional 'playlists' they could be called. So you join a pre-game lobby with those you wish to be on your team and search for another team doing the same thing, or just search for a team of your own in a single queue. One playlist for just normal play, you play with a random other team, and one for a more competitive type of player that would rank you against other players.

Now I understand that the number of people playing he game may not support adding 2 playlists and one would often take a much longer time to search for a game than the other, and may skewer the player base in the normal server list, but I feel that there are a vast number of people playing the game that would at least use a normal matchmaking system for when looking for a game with their friends, and if I do recall correctly, the Xbox players do have this privilege of being guaranteed to be on the team of their friends they originally queued with.

I enjoy this game a great amount, and I know that I would very happy seeing this change. And even then, I don't see how this could hinder the gameplay in any way.

How many threads of this is it going to take before people realize it aint happening?

There's even other instances of people wanting some matchmaking system so that their friends can all play in the same server. While I see why you guys want a matchmaking system, that's cool, however it WILL NOT WORK.

edit: I'll help you out I guess. The reason YOU want matchmaking is for you and your friends. So, let's just drop this idea and I'll tell you how you join the same game with your friends. It's easy:

    1. join same server
    2. finish the game that is currently going on
    3. once in lobby wait till it says "11 seconds" or even "10 seconds" then pick a color.
    4. make sure you pick a color that no one else has picked.
For example: 3 people pick red to be on the same team, that means you guys will wait till it says 11 seconds and pick blue.

End result: Stacked teams and you get to play with your friends. NOW EVERYONE IS HAPPY.

Why would anyone think it's not happening? Has there been an official statement? So far all I can see is you replying negatively to all these threads, no disrespect, just an observation.

Thing is, we want to be able to do 6v6 and have a system like the one in Left 4 Dead at least. 6v6 is currently impossible or very hard to do, even when pubstomping. Which in itself is far less fun than having a nice match with two teams using strategy. There is no need for a rating system. People can tap out if they feel they have no chance or are too superior, once again like in L4D.

The "problem" with servers is easily resolved by using either designated dedicated servers (from uber or otherwise) or a players computer. So far I've had no issues with a local host.

    Just my two cents.

'cause you aren't their boss. It's their game, and they've already done a LOT of work towards how the game was coded and made for dedicated servers.

Also, how many players have been crying about the already horrid "stacked teams".Your idea only supports the idea of stacked teams. Sure, we all want to play with our friends, but what I like about Global Agenda is the fact that you can only bring ONE friend into the game that you're "matchmaked?" into.

Also, this isn't quite necessary. Very few people will actually use this function, and it's mostly going to end up being 1. a waste of their time, 2. buggy, cause we all know that things don't turn up perfect to begin with, and 3. The game is ALREADY out and doing something like this would be quite foolish. It is true that it is my opinion, but it is also a logical one. :)

I would be fine with this as long as it paired teams together against other teams, instead of against a bunch of randoms. That said, I don't really see it happening any time soon even if they want to, it would be difficult to implement and you'd need servers that serve only that kind of traffic.

Yeah, the biggest problem might be figuring out where the game gets hosted.

Left 4 Dead has dedicated servers that host random quickmatches though, so maybe Steamworks has something they could use.
