I'm always very careful when I upgrade. Diminishing returns make me hesitant to buy high end cards, so I usually stick to mid range cards. Usually upgrading when something powerful and cheap enough goes on sale. If something costs twice as much, but doesn't offer double the performance, I'm not likely to get it.

Depends entirely whether you need to buy a new card.

Might want to wait a little. I feel like there might be driver issues. And PA really hates those.

Double the performance is easy enough to find. Getting a double performance boost that's noticeable, not so much.

Turn everything up to Uber. It'll annihilate it!

I run the game on Uber on a 660 Ti. That said, haven't tried large (large) battles yet / in a while :D

(would be more concerned about my RAM, really. Can't believe 8GB is a limitation, but in games as large as PA skirmishes can get, it can be!)

    http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-970-maxwell,review-33038.html

The 970 looks like the card to get (it's $330 so it costs LESS than an R9 290, which was great value already, and yet matches the 290X in speed).

This will probably prompt a price drop from AMD though so good all round imo :D

980 TI probably wont be based on this chip (this is the new 'GM204' there will also be a 'GM210' which will be larger, with wider memory bus etc, however I doubt we will see that for quite a while as the large die's take more time to develop and will be aimed at server cards first).

:D Speaking of which, there goes another 32MB (on any system)...

Oh, and I think I found another 250MB to shave off the Battlefield system.
