Apparently unit names got turned off for me. All units have a description, but no name. http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/43104330561300338/45406DF4FAB0969FEA4A0F8DD478F1F30C79758B/ You can see above the description there is a blank area where the name used to be. How can I fix this?
Yeah turns out F5 does fix it. Shame it keeps happening though, hopefully it gets fixed to be stable.
Its not intentional. F5 almost always fixes it. It basically is a sign that the UI system is running out of resources. Please try closing unnecessary programs (browser tabs in particular can be a problem). This bug is not easily fixed. I am very aware of the problem.
Thanks for the info. Resources, as in RAM? I have 16GB RAM, so I guess I'd be surprised if I'm maxing that out. I'll keep an eye on my RAM if so.
There are a few things that cause most issues: Out of data graphics drivers. As little as 2 months and 0.2 version have caused issues. In rare cases updating to beta driver or recent OS version (linus/mac) to get access to current drivers is nessesary. If there is an issue, 95% chance it is the GPU driver. No or small page file - even if you have 16 GiB Ram, having no page file will somehow confuse the game and get it to memory crash. Overlays of any kind - in particular recordign software, but even the steam overlay in some cases.
