    I wouldn't imagine it'd be difficult at all... Just a simple thumbnail? At the moment it's just a steam icon, which makes the game look pretty incomplete right then and there.

    PaIconLinux.jpg Just feels a bit silly by now. :p

    Here is a quick workaround:

    Grab an icon for PA, like this one:
    http://www.uberent.com/pa/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2013/10/icon_pa_client_alpha_256x256_hi_res.png

    Now, go to this directory :
    $HOME/.local/share/icons/hicolor/256x256/apps
    and put the image there.

    Now edit the desktop file. e.g. with gedit (the path is for english installation):
    $ gedit $HOME/Desktop/Planetary\ Annihilation.desktop

    And change the line for icon to this:
    Icon=icon_pa_client_alpha_256x256_hi_res.png

    Exit your session (or reboot) and you should have the icon on your desktop.

    Really? I just find it a little funny. I think that a game not even having an icon might give users the subliminal ides that..."This game DEFINITELY isn't up to par, or complete. It doesn't even have an icon!"

    Just a simple fix that'd instantly make the game look more professional om other OSs.

    Seems to me half of the linux games from steam laks an icon:
    Bastion, Dota 2, Civilization V, The witcher 2, trine 2, to name a few but well known.

    Ah well.. Alright, I've just begun using it lately, just kind of gives the impression of not really caring. Even though I'm sure that's not the intent. XD

    Speaking of icons and such, i'd like more PA related art in general on steam. Like avatars, background images and all that jazz. Feels like the few images that are there now are a bit dated.

    edit: this could use some love too, last pic is from 2012 :)

    Even on windows Steam links are a tricky beast. They are actually reliased as weblinks using the 'steam:' protocoll as part of the URI.
    They are nothing like the normal programm links you have on your desktop (like the one for steam itself). I am not even sure where the symbol is comming from on windows.

    Not sure how Linux implements steam/weblinks links, but it might be related.

    Yes it does the same. But the logic behind that is quit simple and you got it by yourself already: it's like URI. Basicaly, it says send this text message to this kind of software. Thus it is the steam software that launch PA. Probably adding some kind of... who knows?
