I have been streaming PA for a while with my favorite classical pieces playing in the background, but I think it’s time to expand my library so that I have more variety than a string of violin concertos. So I’m asking for any recommendations of pieces to listen to, preferably longer than 20 minutes (since I don’t like changing music while in the middle of a match). Though I’m open to all music, 12 tone and microtonal music are not what I’m looking for. Here’s a list of the music I already play on stream in no particular order: Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov Capriccio Espanol by Rimsky-Korsakov Shostakovich Quartet 8 Shostakovich Violin Concerto Prokofiev Violin Concerto No 1 Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto Tchaikovsky Symphonies No 1 and 2 Tchaikovsky String Quartet No 1 The Firebird by Stravinsky Weiniawski Violin Concerto Sibelius Violin Concerto Mozart Clarinet Quintet Devil’s Trill Sonata by Tartini The Planets by Holst Dvorak String Quartets 12, 13, and 14 Phillip Glass Violin Concerto Symphonie Espanol by Lalo All the Bach Violin Concertos Feste Romane by Respighi Vivaldi’s Four Seasons Ysaye sonatas for unaccompanied violin Lots of Sarasate showpieces (most often Scherzo Tarantelle) Khachaturian Violin Concerto Brahms Violin Concerto Candice Overture by Bernstein Praeludium and Allegro by Kreisler Tune in and maybe I’ll be playing one of your suggestions!
Here's a random playlist that was auto-generated by youtube for being 1: viewed a lot and 2: being classical or even pre-classical (baroque/romantic era). There are also some popular spotify playlists that you can search for. Tchaikovsky probably makes my favorite pieces followed by Liszt, Chopin, Debussy and Ravel. Un Sospiro and Pavane for a Dead Princess are sooo good. And can't forget about the Gymnopédies. I don't find myself listening to pre-classical music because it's just too 'formal' for my taste when playing games. I need something epic or emotional. Edit: Is it weird that I like rap, pop, EDM, and classical music?
I download the tracks so YouTube doesn’t take up bandwidth, but I’ll look through the playlist for sure. Debussy and Ravel are both great ideas! It’s not weird at all since I listen to hardbass and Anthrax.
I like to listen to classical to relax when I go to bed, so a lot of the Baroque works for me. Just sampled Gymnopedie no. 1, 2 & 3 Piano Solo; that'll work for me too.
