When you guys say orbital aircraft carrier I hope you mean carries aircraft and not satellites.

sounds too much like an experimental to be honest .. and 20 to 40 ? man this thing must be very huge then
because remmember uber wants to go with the "what you see is what you get" (short WYSIWYG) philosophy
as such ... they want to show the units being carried by the carrier visibly and not yust through icons .. which makes me wonder how that would work out ...

i suggest a regular orbital carrier that comes down to the airlayer togather and release aircraft that should do ...

That's what I just suggested. As for the WYSIWYG I didn't say they have to be *inside* the unit they can be shown on the model.

Not to sound like a douche but as for orbital satellites did you read the points? Only air units can be transported not orbital units.

"- During interplanetary movement it's defense systems are disabled so it needs a viable escort of avengers/fabbers"

Units are indestructible during interplanetary movement.

When it's moving between orbital layers. From planet 1 orbital layer to planet 2 orbital layer. While it's in those layers it cannot attack or defend itself. It needs an escort. Sorry will clear that up, thanks xD

    ....

While moving between any orbital layer, units, all units, are indestructible. Whilst in those layers themselves they'll be vulnerable for what 0.5 seconds before they plunge down into the atmosphere?

    -sigh- In the orbital layer.

As I just edited, units do not spend much time in the actual orbital layer, unless they are permanent residents.

0.5 Seconds is too quick for this unit, since it's a transport carrying a potential payload of bombers/fabbers/fighters it would probably take longer to deploy. Not an instant affair. The defenselessness is to reinforce it's role as a transport able to bring in a fresh wing fighters/bombers/fabbers to either kickstart or support an in progress invasion.
