It only takes a break when it's creating a map. It does this in main menu and when looking for multiplayer games. In single player it seems to use less. Just wondering what's going on as it seems like an awful lot of data to be downloading when the game is effectively idle. Distro = Linux Kubuntu 14.04 (not playing with the steam version).
There is an issue with some get requests the game makes for every user you ever encountered on startup, that may be the load you see in the main menu. See here for a fixing mod: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/...map-mod-to-improve-startup.63917/#post-996405 Additionally the list of games however is currently unreasonable big and is downloaded once per second. Here is a mod to fix it: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/wip-faster-server-browser-mod.63947/
Will do, though I won't be about until later as I'm at work (should probably stop wasting time on the forum!)
Are you both spring players that run linux that happen to be a part of PA as well? That is swell. Seeing things like this helps, I sometimes let the recent PA flame total war waging across the entire internet get the best of me, but this stuff makes me snap out of battle fatigue lol. Wow, maybe I take the internet too seriously? I should take a break from reddit and other internet sites lol. I don't know why because I don't even like reddit/steam/such...
Yeah it's very much a different game to the spring engine. I think a large portion of the flaming comes from people playing a beta and not knowing what to expect from a beta. I've been having heaps of fun with PA, it's a great game. Can see it expanding well with more content (and bug fixes )
