SSX is imbalanced, multi-planet aggression too hard

No, it can't. But it has a 2nd beam type weapon which explicitly targets tactical missiles fired from the rocket bot, advanced bomber and catapult. (Note that rockets fired by that one naval unit are NOT countered by the Gil-E!!!)

A single Gil-E can block 1 rocket every 4 seconds, same rate of fire as the advanced bomber, Catapult and the missile bot. A single Gil-E can fully deny fire from a single opponent, so you always need the upper hand in the first place to make use of it, it can't be used against a local superior force.

This is unrelated to the Gil-Es main weapon, so it can shoot down rockets while regularly attacking another target.
