So we can nullify the resulting improvement by making our systems more ridiculous! Awesome! :D

Seriously, that would be great, since the game is extremly ram hungry atm. Already worth it if my thread did something to pushed you in that direction.
Good luck at making planets smaller! While they stay the same size!

    I'd suggest something simpler:
<4GB : Popup on the main screen saying the RAM is below minimum spec
4GB:+ Popup in the multiplayer lobby or AI skirmish if user chooses more than 3 small planets
8GB+: Popup in the multiplayer lobby or AI skirmish if user chooses more than N planets or M large planets
    16GB+: No warnings

That's not strictly true. However, it's not a recommended or supported setting on consumer versions of Windows so I'll say no more about it.

I've definitely been one of the nay sayers in the past but I've changed my tune lately because looking past the current bugs, balance and server performance issues, you guys have created a truely ground breaking game. There's nothing like it! I was interested in Grey Goo but the gameplay in Grey Goo just seems boring now. Other RTS games will have an Uber task on their hands to dethrone this new king of RTS. And thanks for the continued support which will smooth out the performance problems. The game just needs a little more polish and I think all the negativity surrounding this game will dissipate. GOTY

Thanks. That's really good to hear. We're working really hard to make the best game we can here, and to hear something like this is extremely encouraging.

    Well, there's 10MB I just saved.

I know, it's a drop in the bucket. But still, every little counts...

In 3 hours? That's pretty damn good going I'd say.

If you can get a full 1-2GB, I'll buy you a beer. Or 6. You'll really deserve it.

Look at it this way - that's 2/3rds of the full version of Doom.

A whole 8?? That must be like, a whopping pocket calculator from the 70s. You should get an award for installing PA on it!

Is 32GB RAM enough? I haven't played for a few months.

So you recommend I buy another 32GB?

Just in case you can't tell how incredibly sarcastic I'm being, 32GB of RAM is way more than enough to be running PA. You won't need to buy any more for a while.

What gpu? Cpu? System specs? Internet speed? Slow at start or during late game? How many units? How many systems?

I'd love to help get it running well if I can. I want everyone to be able to enjoy the game...

I hear that coherent eats a gig or more, and that a fix to bring it's seperate views down to 9 reduces it below .8gig.

I tried the workaround to do this. Needless to say, it caused PA Launcher to say PA was open when not and couldn't install stable. It then "stopped responding" upon launch if PA Stable folder was removed. But that registry workaround saved a lot of ram. If it could be done from the game itself instead of a registry change (and in fact replacement and redirect), maybe it could help a lot?

I hear less seperate processes for coherent makes UI lag, but I know there is a good place in the middle, and 5-6 is too laggy while 25 tanks ram. Just something I noticed from @SXX but I could not know what I am suggesting.
