So I was doing a galactic war mission, taking on one of the enemy commanders (the one with like 5 enemies), and midway through the game, they attempted to initiate (for lack of a better term) planetary collision. Twice they did this, and twice I destroyed the engines before they reached my planet. I then took one of the planets and then proceeded to send it to collide with another enemy planet (both were obliterated entirely). However, right before impact, they launched their commander into orbit, and I launched about 60 fighters into orbit as well. Now they're endlessly circling the sun, and I have no way to destroy the final commander, thus preventing me from proceeding.
    Anyone else having this bug?

not expierenced that yet ... but damn that ... sucks
imo ... but i am not quite sure there should be a orbital layer were you cant build anything around the sun and have it be like a hub/junction?.. either that or simply donĀ“t allow units to be able to travel torwards the sun?

the player is spaming his commander to diferent planets back and forth, that is a troll tactic.

It's singleplayer. The AI is good, but i don't think it's that advanced. ;)

Pretty sure i've seen people write about a bug causing aimless units to stay in infinite orbits, though.

I saw that in a very old replay once.
Back when orbits were a bit more detailed then they are now. And because planets got "lost" from Haleying. (It all started when somebody started halyeing with the original haley target...).
Eventually the commander did return to a planet, but after a really long and chaotic orbit.

It might be best to quit the game (so you can try your luck again) and make a bug report giving the lobby ID (can be found under replay, your games) in the support section.

Are the infinite orbits always around the sun, or do they reach other planets but instantly goes down back to the sun? It should automatically redirect orbital-transfers with destroyed targets to closest celestial body.

Speaking of orbits, unit icons do not show up for me (for the units traveling from planet to planet). Why is that??
