Sorry if this has been posted before but something that has really bugged me is how orbital units stack. This is less of a problem (at least for me) for air, except maybe for T1 bombers. However when I have an orbital launcher create units and they all stack after completion, it's very difficult for me to select the one I want especially if I'm in a panic to select units. They are so close together I end up selecting units I don't want.

This problem I feel could be solved by having orbital units after completion, spread out into a formation like ground units do. I know this isn't necessarily a big problem or high on the priority list, but it would make orbital more manageable than it currently is in my opinion. What do you guys think? Should orbital units still stack?

They should not, although the possibility of having orbital units try to use the 3d space they have been given would also be cool.

If their rolloff animation involved some moving, like other factories, they would push each other.

Has been mentioned before, still really annoying that it hasn't been changed.

    Same goes for air...
They should use 3D space as well instead of occupying the same location in 2D.

Annoying, but not toooooo critical at the time.

Also, I want a mod that changes the orbital fighter into a Klingon bird of pray!

Indeed, although for air it might cause problems where bombers kill each other and such me thinks.

No, they wouldn't. Pushing is disabled in Air and Orbital layer.

The flocking system is still enabled, thats's why they try to spread out when moving, but that alone will never prevent them from stacking.

There is no friendly fire for bombers. The bombs just go through friendly units (except buildings, which are blocking projectiles explicitly).

Doesn't look nice, but it's not a technical issue, just a purely cosmetic one.

Whereby these Orbital/Air stacks are, since they directly impair usability for both sides since neither side can isolate a specific unit in such a stack. Really nasty e.g. if someone has stacked orbital fabbers or SXX with Avengers....

Set a rally point for a launcher - units will travel a bit and unstack.

It's not about being able to unstack them.

It's about preventing them from stacking in the first place, since that impairs usability and can also be exploited on purpose to intentionally HIDE units which can no longer be selected using an unmoded client.

Yeah exactly. It's really annoying to find that 1 Avenger is actually 100.

Even if stacking remains, I shouldn't have to redirect my units just for them to unstack. Its just one more command you have to do and that may be the difference between you winning and losing :p

For me it's a big annoyance. Clipping and stacking in RTS has always been a massive turnoff for me. Orbital is no fun already. this doesn't make it better.

I'd like to extend this to air navy and land.

    No clipping anywhere please.

air clips as much as orbital currently.

Yes plox... Tired of massive bomber squadrons looking like one bomber.
