Well it does need to know how to manage the new mechanics.

The supcom2 one didn't need to know about much.

    Yeah, I guess. Good point.
I did like the Sorian AI mod for FA though. Now that was a good AI.

Ironic, sorian is the lead dev on the ai for this game.

I am currently working hard to get that hassle down to a minimum. I know that is the weak point of providing a matchmaker via a mod. The current state is that you need to install pamm, then install pastats in it. Then you get a button ingame that you click to search a ranked game. Once it finds an opponent it automatically starts a game and automatically reports the result. As of now the automatically starts a game part sometimes bugs out, but I will improve that within the next few days, no idea if I'll get it to be 100% but it will be better than it is now. (It already does work though!)

I know that and I'm clueless as to how the AI aren't as hard as the FA AI. In this game the AI just rarely seem to ever attack me. They move in and then as soon as they get close they change their mind or something and turn around. It's strange.

His ai certainly improved upon the ai of both Supcoms, but they were still limited I suppose. They always play the same/build cookie cutter bases. PA's literally can't be cookie cutter and so they feel so much more like a player, PA's ai is certainly the most fun I've ever played because it acts like a player rather than a computer.

Halo was just someone gave as an example. I like the setup that I put in the tread.

That's odd, what difficulty? I've never had that issue myself.

I thought it was great but I think a skill type system would be the best option. Not being able to rank up until you hit a certain skill level would really seperate the scrubs from the pros.

Pony he's right about the AI tho...

I have had quite some trouble with even the relentless AI in the past, but since the last few builds the AI dissappoints me aswell... Even the absurd AI doesn't overly commit to harass and when put in a corner they almost literally freeze...

Here is what happens most of times:
I practice my openers, go for some early harassment. Get a few mex down from the AI and start flanking his base (this is with no more than +- 15 dox). The AI defends but can't hold the next wave. So i keep him contained, start orbital and build anchors above his base while i'm taking the whole planet for my own... He cant move out at all, and the i decide just in which way to end the game finally...

Okay then, I think that warrants a bug post, can you make a post in the support forum about it? And search it up on bugtracker?

I think it's a bug, the ai used to challenge good players in the past.

I'll look into doing that. I'm still kind of new to this whole forum thing though. I don't think I've ever actively involved myself in one.

And that's exactly what i thought aswell! I KNEW it challenged even the good players, but i'm nowhere near a good players, and Relentless gave me a run for the money in the past, but now...? I just own them HARD and it's not like i've become godlike at PA since 2 months ;)
