In-game name changes on a whim

My in game name alternates from Hippie (my steam name) to damnhippie (my Ubernet name) whenever it feels like it. Is there a way to set preference? For reference I always launch my game from steam. And I would like my in-game name to always be Hippie.

It's a recently introduced bug, the developers are aware of it. I'd expect it to be fixed in the next update.

So no quick workaround? Thanks, at least now I know.

I just quit and relaunch the game. I think that's about all you can do.

I think it's the PlayFab servers. Before the metal planet laser was introduced, the game connected to UberNet.

As PlayFab was founded by several Uber members I think they have been using their servers for a long time. I'm not 100% sure though.
