I know my last thread about it was not nice and it was deleted, but seriously... server sim is horrible, what will be done about this? Every game goes down to sim 5 after some minutes, sometimes only after 10 minutes.
What point to post it as separate topic and not just within update topic which developers obviously read?
because i dont have to time to read this whole topic and its not an issue to the latest update, but it is a issue since several updates now. And it's a forum. why cluster everything in one thread?
I played a few games about 4 hours ago that were fine on a small single planet; however, for the past one hour, the server has been down at 1.2 fps making all the units just jump around and freeze. This is happening even on a small moon against a single AI BEFORE any units are pumped out... Anyone else experiencing this? I've tried changing to all three different servers to no avail. My current connection speed is 6.9Mbps on speedtest.net
I didn't, I just had a 3v3 and it was absolutely amazing. 48 mins and hundreds and hundreds of units and no slow down except for one stage where I had a slight stutter maybe for 20 seconds.
Create a multiplayer game and check your server fps. What does it say while you are in the lobby before you have even started a game?
Will check now now. @kryovow Im just saying hundreds, not sure of the actual figures. But there were easily thousands. I'll check the replay and post the link here
Server FPS is supposed to be 1FPS. What you should have looked at is not server, but sim FPS. Thats the next performance tab.
Okay thanks. Well I can't even start a game at the moment. The planets never load. Server is 1.0 and SIM is showing 1.$fps, 0.000 usec
It will show that until you enter a game. Dont use massive planets either. Or like 15 planets give it a few mins
had several games now yesterday that went down to sim 1 fps and lower after having like around 1000-2000 units in the game. It's really urgent i think, cos a lot of new players will think, this is normal, and not a bug... and they will think the game's performance is worse than it actually is.
The sim performance of replays cant be compared to the actual game anyway. Replays are like playing back videos. There is no real work to be done anymore for the server if it already has a file that tells it what to do.
