Well, according to Asus' website, there is AN update... back in 2011/10/31. I mean sure I could update to that, but I suspect that is not the issue. Then there's an update to the Xonar DG WHQL driver from 2013/04/18, but all it changes are some foreign language stuffs... The reason it probably complained about being unsigned is that I installed the non-WHQL driver at the time. Oddly, the current WHQL has a newer update date but a lower version...
You could try that, but let me ask you a few more questions: - Do you have any third-party software running in the background? - Any antiviruses/firewalls? - What is the make (manufacturer), model, and energy capacity (W) of your power supply?
I have Avast as antivirus, but that hasn't changed since I first installed PA. Only firewall is the Windows Firewall. My power supply is 650W if I recall correctly, Manufacturer is Antec, but I can't see anything else without removing it from my PC. Anyhow, I haven't added new hardware in quite a while, so I would rule that out. Could this problem really be caused by a power supply? It's not like my whole computer died, I can still interact with other windows when PA is hung up. I do tend to run lots of "third party" (not Windows or PA) programs in the background, but I usually close most of them to conserve CPU and memory when running PA. Usually the only things left are mouse related software (e.g. XMouse, Razer), a desktop window manager (AquaSnap), maybe Google Hangouts, sometimes Steam (depends on if launched from Steam), Avast, and a few others depending on if I remember to close them. Again, none of these things are new since the latest updates to PA. Of course, that doesn't mean that a new feature in PA couldn't have started a problem with something I'd had in previous versions, but... I appreciate your helpfulness, but these don't seem like feasible issues to me...
