Weird lag and server performance in stable build

    One of the large reason Uber wasn't putting out too much information for a while is both because they were working, and because people like you love to nitpick at them and show what they haven't done as apposed to what they have done.

    Also I must mention that the fact you say the engine isn't well optimized is very laughable considering I play with an HD3000 graphics card, Quad core 2.3GHz CPU, and only four GB of RAM.

    i play on 8 core machine with 2 gpu and 16 gb of ram.... the game have problem if you not admit it...

    people like me? i have play for +150 hours in various stage of game develop
    at the start I have not any problem because the game was an early access but now the final release is here... and it is wrong dear

    I'm guessing your graphics card isn't updated or something, because like I said, I play with some old specs. (Also the game doesn't support SLI so having two GPUs doesn't matter as only one GPU is being utilized.)

    I play with the specs I listed earlier at 60fps early game.

    Seriously, this is reminds me of publishers like EA demanding a product be pushed out unfinished and buggy just to get the game to market. It is different with things like the Unit Cannon, biomes, and other things. Those are all "nice to have" features.

    Offline is however is a fundamental portion of the game, since if/when the servers go down *we have no functioning game*. Who here thinks on launch day when you have all of the newly minted players from steam and other outlets (physical and otherwise) all logging on to Uber's servers to play the game they purchased and find that they can only play around in the system editor? It would be an utter disaster for publicity and parallels would be (rightly so) drawn to the disastrous SimCity fiasco. The game is 3.5 days from launch and we have serious lag in the servers *now.*

    Would you not expect a new car to function correctly on purchase? Would you not demand a refund/return if that car only works in neutral when the ignition is turned on?

    I know they will be getting the offline mode in at some point because they have repeatedly stated this, but unless they have it coming on launch day, they are headed for a world of hurt by reviewers (who won't be able to review the game) and angry customers. If they do anything about it, they need to plaster it *all over* the launcher, main menu, and game lobby that offline mode is coming.

    squishypon3 you suppose to much my pc is brillant perfect tunned and have the latest driver... no one of the my other 300+ games have problems, the game freeze crash and have **** performance.
    my dear you are a people that honestly I not want trust... the uber done it when is ready, is difficult to do that, they fix when, the game run perfectlly.... seriuoslly????? WTF you are? are you Mavor?

    the game not run well the connection with west EU server is bad (i have a 20Mgabit connection), and now and now 5 septmber the game is out???? what is that a joke?

    I agree that offline mode coming soon does need to be pushed EVERYWHERE, and I really hope Uber does something to make sure NOBODY can say the game won't have offline, it needs to be on the steam page, at the main menu, everywhere.

    I've got to tell you something, and everyone something:

    I want offline mode at release too.. Heck, I probably want it more than everybody. At the moment I have satellite internet, 14mbps down which is pretty nice.. Until I reach my bandwidth limit- I have only 10GB of data, for a WHOLE MONTH. This means after that 10GBs are used up, horrible, and I mean HORRIBLE download speeds. Speeds of at most- 50kbs. Luckily for me I have unlimited bandwidth all night, but I can tell you- I don't want to have to stay up every night to play the game I love.

    I really hope Uber implements it at 1.0 too, but if not, I completely understand WHY it wasn't implemented. I really don't want this game to fail, and I really don't want misinformation about the game to be spread all over.

    i am bored to read think like it will be great with a ptach after the realease... it is a mystification if a game is bugged heavly bugged at day one... there is not a magic spell that can give use no lag on server, alla the biomes and the "phantasma" units and game mode in 3 days

    If you say so, mind sending a dxdiag.txt, I'm sure if there's a problem we can trace it. I must be completely sure that your drivers are up to date as they can really cause a breakdown of the game if not.

    My wife's pc runs the game just fine on an integrated GPU (AMD) and 6 GB of ram. She has to tone down the settings to low/med, but it runs around 30FPS.

    Mine runs at a constant 60FPS (client), but it is freezing and jittering so much with much of the time between watching the battle unfold in slow motion (Sim alternating between 0.4 FPS and 10 FPS). If they could keep it at 10 FPS, the game is just fine, the problem is that the Sim FPS has gotten incredibly bad in recent builds and keeps dipping into the 1.0 FPS and lower ranges! :(

    or also wrost the game will be better with a few mods.... WTF you think! i must also search and istall a mod for level up a game? no dear I HAVE BEACAME A HUNGRY CUSTOMERS IN THE MOMENT OF THE REALEASE OF THE OFFICIAL LAUNCH TRAILER... 5SEP.... BUT THE GAME IS STILL A HEAVLY WIP

    The sim is done on the uber servers.

    So that's the server tanking when running like 4-5 games at once.

    Oh I know it is the servers. I have been seeing it get worse while my client perf is going up.

    Urud7, we would really need to see your dxdiag.txt before being able to help you at this point, along with a shot of your taskmanager after you started a game, and all four shots of the ctrl+p performance menus in game.

    I HAVE 2 560Ti WITH THE NVIDIA DRIVER 340.52 ...

    squishypon3 you continue on that arrogant line.... my PC is perfect the game not to much not for a game that will be realesed in the next 60-70hours

    It isn't about whether Simcity was ever promised or intended to have offline single player or not, it's about the launch that accompanied the always online nature of Simcity. It's about the performance that accompanied an always online game when the developers and publisher weren't ready for the influx of players that came along with the retail launch. It was an absolute disaster and the game was widely despised as requiring an online connection where there need be none. The most lauded accomplishment of Simcity so far is the developers caving and allowing what modders had already managed to make possible, and indeed demonstrating that it was completely feasible from the start.

    The same is true of PA's AI skirmish and Galactic Warfare. No one cares about playing against the AI online, and the argument that it allows players with less stellar PC's to better run the game is mostly moot. The game performs terribly no matter what your system is at this point. The Uber servers are horribly overtaxed even in early access and even before the recent patch that further decreased performance, there was a doomsday clock on when your matches would descend into a slideshow.

    Are you honestly stating you wish offline was impossible at release?
