So I'm playing Galactic War, and things are going okay. Then all of a sudden the screen blanks. All matte blue. If I move my mouse around it acts like I'm hovering over units and such, but I can't actually see anything.

Edit: This is in the PTE

Try refreshing the UI by pressing F5.

Also, the PTE is offline, with the release build currently being live.

The unofficial name of this build is called Lag Build. ;)

You got that right. Lag is the king in this build.

I've had a similar issue, FS#4025, do you still have the UI like this? Do you know what steps you performed to produce it or is it completely spontaneous?

@Aranfan : If you are on Windows, it would be very helpful of you to post your Dxdiag so that I can check out the issue.

Is this a problem with outdated drivers or does it happen with up-to-date drivers nonetheless?

I hit this issue just now, as well, and hitting F5 (while paused) fixed it! Thanks very much for that, I was bummed at the prospect of losing my GW progress.

    Repro steps:

I was playing GW in the Varthema system, not a whole lot had happened (~10 mins in). I had built an orbital and deepspace radar, and when it said it detected an enemy, I clicked on the box (which wasn't show anything), and got the plain blue screen. I hadn't used the PIP yet, so at first I was able to open up that and switch the view in it with my current view, and I was ok. Of course, seconds after that, another enemy is detected, I click the box to snap to see them, and my main screen goes blue again. Came to the forums, found this thread, and was able to get back to my game!

I've uploaded my DxDiag. It appears that my graphics drivers are a bit out of date, so after I finish this game I'll look into updating them. Maybe something else in there will help somebody.

Sorry, but I don't know how to do a DxDiag or whatever, and I haven't encountered the problem again.
