Friendly Reminder About the Incoming Flood of Questions

1.0 is right around the corner.

With that, there's going to be a massive flood of questions. "How do I do ___?" "Why do I keep losing?" "Has anyone thought to add shields to the game?" And the like.

Let's continue to be the awesome community that we are and beat these newbs into submission!

Wait. No. That's wrong.

Let's be kind and friendly and answer their questions as they come. Yes, let's direct them to the search button, but let's also be helpful and friendly.

There should probably be a subforum for new players to ask questions like those. As well as stickied reminders about shields, experimentals, space battles, etc.

we all know how well subforums work for directing newbies to the right spot.

Yeah, that thread should probably be renamed to "New players read this" or something along those lines.

It wouldn't matter people wouldn't read it anyways.

Forum restriction could be a solution (if XenForo allows that). Limit brand new accounts to a handful of posts per day for the first few days, and restrict access to "advanced" subforums like balance for a week or two.

Oh, and strict moderation, of course. I guess the various greens and reds will have some busy weeks ahead of them, closing, merging and pruning threads left and right.

I'll have one of those cameras. Wrong Cat, let us unite our powers and force Scathis into battle!
