Interesting, however you still have to have the windows machine to *stream from* :p Nice if you wanted a cheap box for the tele though.

alt-f4 is still a valid shortcut
not only that you silly sally
but something else I told you about ages ago.

    workspaces: ctrl-alt-arrow keys.
in the new workspace open system monitor and close the app.

Also refrain from running apps installed on other systems with wine before running their installer TT_TT

also try linux vers of PA. :p

whenever the desktop finally fails you and freezes there's STILL something you can do (cuz linux is just that buff)
    ctrl-alt-f2
opens a ...super terminal. you log in. then you can open up system manager via "top" type it in and hit enter
then find the culprit, generally compiz config or workspace manager take his PID and then type :
    kill -9 8523

(instead of 8523 the PID of the app, I just put a random PID)

then with ctrl-alt-f7 you can go back to the desktop.

It's UI crash everyone know about. Though "little attention from Uber's side to all issues Linux lately." would mean there is should be a lot of issues. :p

So I want to know them because I'll be happy to reproduce and report them properly as far it's not Coherent issues.

I understand your frustration with PA not working correctly. Before PA Uber was a strictly Windows shop and consequently Windows gets more attention. Several months back they hired a programmer to specifically work on Linux issues but only one person so takes more time. Uber being a indie developer doesn't have the resources required to do multiple platforms simultaneously to keep them all at the same quality. I really hope they reallocate resources to OS (Linux/Mac OS X) specific issues when they free up so they can be worked on.:)

I would say stick around for a while and see what the upcoming PTE RC builds bring. PA is a great game I am so sorry that you're having these issues. You can contact support@uberednt.com if you purchased the game from Uber's website according to the EULA within 30 days you get your money back. Now if you purchased off of steam valve's policy is no refunds for a early access title. You could try contacting steam support to get a refund it may or may not work.:)

Again I hope you choose to stay around and this issue needs to be resolved.:)

    Thank you,

No, you just need hardware that support it and extra graphics card to pass it into VM.

Also now extra graphics card is no longer required if you have integrated Intel GPU. E.g Intel implemented special mechanism called GVT-g that allow to share one GPU between host and multiple VM. It's already supported in their Windows drivers.

Ok perhapse I'm not understanding then, however I thought that a VM (Virtual Machine) allowed you to run multiple operating systems on a single machine. That would however still *require* the software in question (e.g. to run a Windows VM inside linux, you'd still have to *have* a copy of windows surley?)....

I know this isn't a solution, but it's my solution since beta; just dual-boot or VM until it's playable on linux. Windows 8.1 enterprise has a 180 day free trial (well, 90 day free trial that you can extend by another 90 days).

    Not likely Linux-only issue.

Thanks! This one likely related to compiz so I'll need to check it with Unity.

I seen it before, but WORKSFORME so more testing needed. E.g have to find out what exactly make it not work.

This one only for Unity so it's more like feature request, but can be done obviously.

    Coherent issue... :(

    jesus!

why do you keep defending cohenrent when it causes all these issues?
    EDIT: woops
Unity users are their prime linux target audience, they said so themselves.

not a feature request, this is brass tax bottom line.

Do you know if there's also a second GPU required when using Xens VGA passthrough? I didn't try it out yet because I don't have access to my PC currently, however I couldn't find a mention on their Wiki that it would need two GPUs.
Great, now I voted for all of them even though I don't have any of those issues.

Yes, but for professional users of CAD systems price of Windows license isn't that big problem.

Yes, it's required. I use Intel HD4600 on host and pass AMD HD6950 into VM.
Also if you're on Linux it's preferable to use KVM/QEMU instead of Xen.
