We all really love dox and all but..

    I rather have Uber balancing the units because if you make mods for balancing in this stage of PA you keep on making mods :S. I also think the Grenadiers are underpowered and useless because of the OP Dox. There are many more thinks that deserves some more balancing but it all takes a lot of time. To bad I don't have time to make balancing mods. I hope Uber will do a proper job in the next couple of months. Incase they fail I'm sure the community will make some balancing mods for me to use :)

    You don't need to keep on making mods, mods stay the same no matter what.. unless an engine change happens. :p

    What if Uber start making other units more powerfull and the dox stays the same. than you also have to balance those other units right? Or do you mean that you set all unit parameters in the mod? In that case there is a ton of other balancing still need to done.

    There are already two balance mods for the game, RCBM and Statera. I'm working on Statera with Stuart, Zx0, Trophy, etc... and we've drastically changed the balance of the game and added our own units to the mix. So yes, entirely possible. ;)

    But how well balanced is it? And how many others are using this mod? If there are many players using it so it can fill up lobby's I might start using it too

    We've got a couple hundred downloads by now I think.. And we'd like to believe it's well balanced... Anti-air was a bit UP and we accidentally gave a gunship's machine guns anti-air capability.. but naval is useful, bots vs tanks are fair, etc...

    (Though I must admit that with any mod it's hard to get a server going for them, you should just invite some of your buddies or something. :p )

    As many as is possible to the point at which they cannot be adequately mapped and held in-memory by single person (or small group of persons).

    Over the past few thousand years we've had a staggering number of ways to wage war, subdue, subvert and of course, kill each other. I see no reason that an RTS could not contain enough of these methods (and a few fantastic or improbable methods that didn't work) updated into a balanced enough system, that a significant "meta" could become impossible to reach.

    That no RTS that I could name off-the-cuff would qualify, does not mean that such a goal should not be strived for.

    Dox. Dox should be fast and not be able to shoot at air. That was the worst balance change I have seen. They should be strong vs raiding mexes but weaker then tanks. Is that so hard UBER? No lets make a unit thats fast, strong, and shoots air. I have many friends that stopped playing saying how broken pa is now.

    I agree - either let everything shoot air (you know like in that awesome game - I think it was called something with "annihilation") or only dedicated anti-air units. This change is so goddamn arbitrary that it is completely against the holy WYSIWYG principle.

    Edit: Making slammers and doxen amphibious falls under the same category.

    we saw already how it worked with everything being able to target air ... sooo no thx ... and yes TA is awesome ... but in no way balanced ...
    and personaly i rather find the slammer pretty good as it is right now

    well it played out different in TA.

    When tank shells were shot at a fighter ....it was ....errr...... less efficient than would have been a homing missile.
