nope. quote me where I said that.

    here's what I said:
I said there's not use implementing jamming as long as intel is f--ked.

first step is to fix intel, then maybe we can have jamming.

I never said jamming was the solution to PA's current intel state.

Oh, my mistake. I thought you supported jammers as the solution to the problems with PA's intelligence dimension.

Fixing intel depends on what kind of gameplay you think is best. I would be curious to hear your thoughts on what should be done regarding improving intel gameplay in PA. What should it look like?

As I have said earlier, my position is that players need less information. That means heavily nerfing radar, forcing players to spend more time, resources, and attention on information.

    why would I?

as for my "thoughts on intel"..... xD ....I gave you everything you needed to know 12 posts ago : https://forums.uberent.com/threads/unit-suggestion-radar-jammer.63075/page-2#post-982223

follow my links, they generally lead to good things.

So am I correct in saying that you think radar should give even more information? Like in your thread on differentiating radar blips? For example, identifying whether radar blips are land units, air units, or structures, etc.

Because that does not appear to be anywhere in the ballpark of reasonable as a solution to making intel gameplay better. In fact, giving players more information from just radar seems like it would be extremely negative by revealing even more information more easily.

To fix PA's intel gameplay dimension, players need less information, not more. Giving players even more information just further erodes the interesting scouting/counter-recon/deception aspect of the game.

I think that radar range should be limited based on the curvature of the planet.
I recall one of the Uber devs, perhaps Jon indicating that radar shadow is to cost intensive but a basic calculation done when a radar is placed could easily modify its range to match curvature shadow at least, even if terrain shadow is not possible, and the fact that the T2 radar is taller than the T1 will allow for increased range in a practical, non arbitrary way.

Additionally, Radar should be able to detect Air units before land units. A shorthand way to achieve this would be to extend air radar range(again based on curvature) to account for the fact that air units will reach the horizon sooner due to the fact that they are flying at elevation.

I think mobile jammers are a good Idea. they do not have to have a range of more than the firing range of an ant to be very effective. In fact giving them a large range would simply telegraph to your opponent that you are jamming and undermine the need for the jammer in the first place.

I think there should be stealth units in the game. Do not misunderstand I do not want cloaking. By stealth I mean cannot be seen by radar and missiles will not lock unless fired at very close range.

Overall radar reach should be reduced to about half of what it is now.

I remember back in TA whenever someone made a Big Bertha or an Intimidator, I always used radar jammers and placed them around essential structures/my Commander.

I've never found radar jammers to be effective in any RTS game. Against the AI, they are useless by design (or lack of design, if you prefer), and against humans, when you see a big sea of red with a big hole in the middle, you kind of know that's where all the good stuff is which needs destroying.

Sorian stated quite a few times that the AI does not cheat with the information it is getting. It needs to scout and only has the same tools for information getting as the human player does. Therefore radar jammers would not be useless against the AI.
