I wanted to mention this quite a while back, but I kept forgetting to do it. My problem with metal planets at the moment is the graphics used for the metal spots on them being the same as every other planet (Basiscally an ore vein). So I wanted to ask the devs if it would be possible/easy enough to change the graphics of the metal spots to something like this on metal planets. It's only a minor thing so i'm hoping that I don't get people saying just mod it in. If anything i'm hoping that details like this will be considered for the polish phase of development.
That looks good too. Although I fail to see how it looks too organic, to me it looks like some form of metal waste which has been left there in the past. Anyway, I don't really mind what design Uber goes with as long as they differentiate it from the ore veins on other organic planets.
I'm just hoping uber considers it. From my point of view it doesn't matter where this is in the list since it should be fairly easy to implement, unless i'm missing something. After the art is done it should not be too difficult to implement since it shares the same properties as a normal metal spot, just with different art.
Touché. Well, then there should be slightly different art for metal spots in water, on moons and on lava planets too.
Since those planets are organic, ore veins make sense. But does it make sense to find ore veins on massive artificial metal constructs? I think not.
I mean like slightly rusted in water and perhaps melted pools of metal on lava planets. Maybe small craters for moons. (like metal filled asteroids have crashed there,)
Pretty sure the current metal spots are placeholder. They doesnt look that good for sure. So yeah, it would be nice if metal spots on different planets and biomes looked differently.
i agree I also think Metal Planet spots should be placed in a more geometric pattern, to emphasize how the planets are artificial.
I agree. Metal planets should have regular shapes for metal spots, and lava planets could have molten rocks/pools. Moons could have metal-rich asteroid impact sites, perhaps?
That it not be part of the plan would legitimately surprise me. I think @neutrino even answered a question on one of the livestreams about that.
