I get a solid black screen when I launch the game (started after the last update). I have seen other people's posts that say they hear the music or see faded graphics, but I have none of that. Just a black screen. I can Shift-Tab to get the Steam overlay still, but I have to use the Task Manager to close the game. I only have Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 listed under 'Display Adapters' in the Device Manager, so the Intel driver fix doesn't help me. I would like to post a DxDiag, but I'm not sure what I am doing. Do I do that while the game is running and I am at the black screen or do I do it before/after? Thanks in advance. Hello, Are you running Steam Beta? That can trigger black screens on startup. For the Dxdiag, you create that when the game is not running. Follow the instructions in my signature below to create and upload your Dxdiag.
This may be a bug hiding a bug. Try opting in and out of the beta program, then restart Steam. Your Dxdiag is fine graphics wise, but I would suggest updating your Vengeance sound card; drivers are over a year old.
The Vengence 2100 are a set of headphones, no driver there. I have opted into the beta, restarted Steam, tried game: Black screen, no sound. I have opted back out of the beta, restarted Steam, tried game: Black screen, no sound. I am at a loss.
I have McAfee running, but it has never been a problem in the past. Nor does it affect any of the other games in my library (120 and counting). There haven't been any hardware changes in my rig, and I don't think my GPU drivers were updated recently.
My key has been converted to a Steam key. How do I go about using/downloading the Uber launcher. I don't see that on their website.
Go to http://store.uberent.com Log in (same as forum) and you can download game from there. Then load up via launcher and log in to run it....

Hello, I'd like to state that I had the same issue. I updated my graphics drivers but discovered that I was in Steam Beta Access. Opting out of this via settings on steam and restarting steam resolved my issue. I have been in Steam Beta Access without issue for my last 100+ hrs of gameplay but a recent build must have screwed it. Thanks for whoever stated that. Saved me a headache.
