I played my first game of PA last night, didn't last long but I was pretty impressed. 2v3 (my first game so I was given another ally, nice guys) I built myself a bot factory, started churning out dox and fabbers on a continuous build, got my commander to build two mexes and queue up some energy plants. I sent one of my new fabbers off to expand to a new metal site and put the other to work setting up a line of bot factory to start pumping out dox because I mean business. Unfortunately so did my opponents, within a minute I was under attack, I managed to fend off a few waves of attacks and even pushed back taking my commander forward backed up by an army of dox but ended up falling back, my comm's health getting a little low. But I made it to the relative safety of the expanse between my base and an ally's. Trying to manage expanding whilst intercepting enemy raids was getting a little overwhelming and I probably sucked a little, more likely a lot. My ally had to come to my rescue with his own army of doxii but inexplicably pulled back. Turns out he was getting owned by the other enemy. Also turns out my strat of all dox all the time wasn't working out so good, enemy tanks were getting some wins in and the possibility of enemy planes was getting me worried. (Turns out those planes were actually my third ally's, so nevermind.) Started building air factories and tank factories, and started churning out various units, started building the bombers way to late and the doxii anti-air totally swept the few I had out of the sky. Suddenly I pan over to my ally's base and see it being eaten by an army of red dots, pan to the left my base is being munched by orange dots, and my commander is right in the middle. My attempt at escape did not precede as planned. With my doom confirmed with a spectacular explosion I chose to spectate, upon doing so I realised that my third ally had teched up and set up on another planet! Cheeky devil, the other ally was there too having hopped through a teleporter. Well nice guys could have told me, I would have joined you. Watched for a few more minutes enjoying the view but backed out of the match to see if I could find another game, ended up playing with the system editor and then went to bed. Managed to render a system with a 1200 radius earth, 800 radius desert and 500 radius moon in about 10 seconds. Give or take. At work at the moment but see some of you tonight.
but you were on the forum for such a long time? were you waiting for PA to be in a near-complete state? anyways hats off to you.
I was unemployed with a 10 year old pc, I'm now employed and have a brand new pc. 16 gb ram i7 4ghz processor nividia 4gb gtx 770 240 gb SSD (windows loads in like 3 seconds :O) 2tb hardrive (unused) Game runs fantastic, even on uber settings. Although I haven't had a chance to stress test it yet, took me two hours to figure out how to connect my monitor to the bloody thing. I also need to figure out how to connect to my other pc's and get my mic working....
