He said 10fps sim, it's probably not sim, but the server itself.

Well, according to your Dxdiag, you have only ~1GB of VRAM. To play on Uber settings, you will need at least 2GB of VRAM or more.

Everything else looks fine - drivers are up to date, there is plenty of RAM (12 GB), CPU is fast (3.2 GHz), and you have a 64 bit OS.

So is it just the server?

I think so. The server is being worked on at the moment.

I've never seen the server FPS drop below 1.0 FPS. (which is normal)

I don't think you can build enough units in a normal game where the actual server starts chugging.

Well he said a sim of 10fps and client of 60... It has to be the server. :p

It could have been a very cumbersome game perhaps?

It could just be a bandwidth problem...

What internet speeds do you have, and how are you connected to the internet (i.e. are you using wifi or an Ethernet cable, if it's wifi a cable might help)?

Ok it shouldn't be your internet connection then...

And when your getting the slow downs your sure the sim is still at 10 fps?

The correct FPS for the server is 1.0 fps (if running normally) and 10 fps for the sim. If either of these are lower than that when you get the lag then that is probably your issue.

Currently the known bugs that cause this are related to either:

1: Large number of units on a large (or planet wide) area patrol (e.g. mass doxes)
2: Large number of units getting stuck
3: Large number of units moving between planets at the same time.

If you're playing against the AI, the AI tends to produce masses of units and move them around a lot which can cause the sim to get overwhelmed and slow down. Interestingly the *number* of units isn't really the issue, but rather the number of moving units.
