Hey guys, first of all, I love this game so much, it's my go to RTS after looking for something with simulated projectiles. I'm a person that takes a lot of attention in the little details in the game, things such as bullets being able to miss the target, and wreckage are things I love from the game.

So I was wondering, why don't nukes and collisions get worked to do gradual damage as the shock wave expands? There was a mod for this in SupCom, but I can't find it here. Maybe make them do some upfront damage on the whole area, and then the other part when the shockwave passes over it.

I don't really know the gameplay/balance implications that change could make. Perhaps a fast unit could escape if the player reacted quickly. But not taking into account that, I believe it's a change that would add a lot of enjoyment to the actual show of watching the nuke go off, in a way it's advanced eye candy.

So yeah, it's pretty much a suggestion that ocurred to me. (I couldn't find any suggestion threads, if you could point me to one I'd be grateful!)

I totally agree with this: shock-wave, creeping damage ... yes, yes, and more yes. Something like this would be awesome and it would be 1 step closer to the image below.

Every time I see a planet impacts another planet in PA, I am blown away at how cool the animation looks (Good job faceless developer). But still, I feel it is missing exactly what this thread is suggesting, shock-wave/creeping damage encompassing the planet (also an animation of a fire encompassing the planet).

    But overall still sexy.

What's the pelican? Air transport unit?. I guess the upfront damage could be adjusted to cause 60% of the commanders HP. That way he'd still die after two nukes (like it is now)

Shockwaves travel pretty quickly and these are pretty small planets.

^Exactly, It's more an eye candy feature than a gameplay one. Having things synched just makes every explosion feel more real, tangible if you will.

The pelican is the fastest(?) unit in the game, other than orbital units performing a transfer. People will use it to pick up their commander, and send him on a patrol so he dodges nukes and sxx snipes.
