Someone can explain to me the logic of this game.

    First, there was Popluous... populous... poplouos... well... you know what I am trying to say. Not the original, but later one in the series. It had spherical planets (and you could alter terrain and stuff there, very cool).

    Then, there was RTS part in Spore. Yes, it's not the best RTS example, but I am just trying to say that PA wasn't first to implement it. But yeah, it's still not common to do spherical maps in games.

    The Beginning? The one with the shamen. Those maps weren't actually spheres; torus maybe - a square that wrapped at the edges. The "sphere" was all graphical effects, although wrapping around did remove the edge-of-map problem.

    I decided to google for some more spherical RTS, look what I found, post on some forums from 2007:
