Yeah, a huge +1 in my book. Allows one to properly coordinate strategies ahead of time based on being able to visibly determine ETAs.

I wouldn't mind it, it's one of those things I can take or leave, honestly.

I just thought of a related extension to this that I would love. Let's say you are working on a huge project like a nuke and you select a new fabber or two. Wouldn't it be cool if you could hover your mouse over the nuke and it popped up with a "-27 seconds" or whatever the ETA would change by from the addition of that new build power?

    +1
Orbital ETA is a must have feature, especially on moons that are being fired would be nice.
On the ground it's nice too, but it will be tough to make that accurate I think.

The ability to click and drag waypoints is much more useful/important IMO.

Sup Com was supposed to have a "coordinated attack" feature, where if you set an attack command, selected another group then right clicked (?) on the existing attack command it would set up a coordinated attack and try and make the two groups arrive at the same time. Never worked properly for me though :p

A great idea in theory, but not very accurate considering the fluctuating eco most players maintain.

Yeah, the thing with an ETA is that it is always an estimate. In a simulation game like this the only way to be sure of anything is to do it and watch it happen, but estimates can still help. An ETA of two minutes is going to be longer than an ETA of 30 seconds, so at least I know my army will arrive in time to kill the enemy anti-nuke before my own nuke is finished building.

E stands for estimated in 'ETA', so yeah. Maybe it could be implemented in a way that next to the price of a building, the number of seconds it takes to construct that building, considering the fabbers you've selected and calculated for 100% eco efficiency. Example: with 5 fabbers selected a 500 metal building would take 10 seconds; with 5 factories you will build 1 dox every 0.625 sec.

Could just put "Soon™" for an ETA on each..

I would like numbers for build percent till complete, and for move times. Basically, a number of seconds for everything in progress, where the purple bar is currently.

I just think a number of seconds counting down, difficult to code into everything, is useful ingame so you know unit build times are 3 a piece, an orbital travel time is 28 seconds, and an army movement is 18 seconds.

I say that because, if the timer in Five Nights at Freddys was more accurate, and drain rate was a clear 1% every X seconds, micromanagement wouldn't be so ambiguous, I played that enough to know I waste a lot not having a real measurement of time to space out actions.

Moveable waypoints for construction, attacking, moving etc along with ETA's for them was a very good feature in supcom. Would love to see it.

This is a good idea. Maybe make the ETA hideable so it's not always on the screen, and can be called upon when you need the info.
