I know this has been discussed before, but I just wanted to make a request that it's displayed somewhere, assuming this is relatively trivial. There's something very satisfying about knowing which of your Holkins/nukes etc has done the most damage, and it also serves a gameplay function to let you know which turrets are being attacked most.

I think the health bar shows which turrets are being attacked the most ;)

Not if they're picking off lone Dox, for instance. In previous games of this ilk, I would often find that the kill counts on turrets acted as a useful bit of intel for areas I wasn't concentrating on. Granted in SupCom your turrets would often be behind a shield, so they'd show no damage until they were over-run, but the point still stands.

And even if the point doesn't stand at all, Uber have stated that kill counts are recorded by the game as a matter of course, so I presume (hopefully not showing my coding ignorance too strongly), that adding a line saying 'Kills: 13' somewhere in the UI would be a matter of five minutes coding.

We store kill counts per army, not per unit.

Do you remember " Core/Arm is in the lead"?
    That would be cool

I would be all for this.

Though I know that it's more about mass units in this game, than a few, really strong units.

But it would be SUPER cool to have a game with combat fabbers running behind vanguards, and mousing over to see your vanguard has 300 kills. I mean come on, why are there combat fabbers if not to promote unit longevity..., and why have unit longevity without some way of measuring it ;)

Also, very gratifying to have a well "maintenanced" lazer turret that saves your base multiple times, rack up like 500 doxen dog tags!

If it's easy to apply, then make it rain coolness UBER.

I remember y'all saying that you did, or would, store stats based on unit.

You specifically said you could do it because it was brought up in a unit veterancy thread. So you said it's something that could be modded in, but won't be in vanilla.

This is really, really sad. Unit kill count it's one of my most wanted features...

Exactly what SXX said. EDIT: Oh wait, he was being sarcastic.

This is the first announcement that's made me feel properly disappointed, especially since it can't have been much extra work to have done it per unit in the first place, and retrofitting it is likely to be far more work than could be justified.

To be honest, in the scheme of things I can see why (given it's scale) PA isn't that focused on what an individual unit is doing.

What I am curious about though is what precisely does 'kill count per army' mean exactly? Is a player 'an army' for example? Or does it mean a 'squad' (i.e. blob) of units as an army?

Actually no, but smile likely wa the wrong one. :(

Per unit kill count it's one of important RTS features for me personally. Seriously.

.....why is it am important feature?

Like, it's nice to have, but important? I don't see why.

I imagine it opens up a lot of modding potential, aswell as let you judge if you placed artillery and defenses well in retrospect.

That's true but mods don't hold true to that idea. Having individual kill counts will make it more satisfying when playing with a modded super bot/tank/orbital mega cannon etc.

Yeah I can see that- I would imagine this is something Uber can implement down the road, right at the moment I think they've got other things their focusing on however they are very keen to support modding.

    Hmm...

How many variables are stored on a per-unit basis?
From a modding perspective it'd be nice to know what can and can't be potentially altered on the fly for each unit.
