a very evident PA bug in this stream is the earth like planet in his PIP had it's trees hidden and revealed according to his zoom distance and camera position on another planet : the moon biome.
There were some bugs that TLO noticed just in the time he was playing, like the dox-water interactions, camera-hotkeys not switching planets when units selected... things like that. Overall, I think he was impressed.
Yeah he seemed really intelligent while questioning Adam. Is it just me or is orbital as boring to watch as it is to play?
Orbital suffers from a number of issues: 1. System size got bigger but travel speed didn't change. Sounded like that was being fixed with changes to speed relative to the size of the system. 2. The sim collapses with large numbers of units on area patrols or colliding. With those two elements fixed orbital might not be the most exciting thing ever, but it'll be a damn sight better than it is now. It was a lot more enjoyable watching him than Destiny though. He seemed to have a handle on the mechanics and a far better understanding of general RTS concepts.
he's arguably the best in the world. also another bug that I noticed during the stream is that server lag made switching between planets impossible. this happened on numerous accounts.
I trolled around in the Twitch chat for the first half hour or so but missed most of it due to other commitments. Generally well received?
Just for those not aware, TLO plays Starcraft 2 at a high level and started out playing a lot of Supreme Commander/FA as well. Mike
I got the vibe from TLO that he thought the game was on a good course, but obviously he didn't feel as if he could critically comment because the game isn't finished yet. If this were released I imagine he'd be making mincemeat of it.
I also want to know how it went I was also only there at the beginning. (the part that I saw, people were intrigued and rather pumped. ...wanted to know release dates and stuff like that (of course there were the typical Starcraft mindless drones making fun of it and being otherwise arrogant and ignorant but I think they represented a minority)) he said that? how precious of him!
was just a matter of time ... wonder if his brother TBO makes a comeback as well they were quite the entertaining team back in FA ... to bad i missed the stream
Well if the game wants to succeed, it needs to attract players like that. If anything uber should really value feedback from players like that. Definitely one of my favorite zerg players in sc2. while he might not be the best, he is damn creative.
