Also, can we make a thread only about garat? Like to only compliment and stuff? Like omg Garat that super handsom man, he did it again and ****? So every time he kinda feels abit of the weather he can read about all the nice things people say about him? That would be cool

If we do it for garat we'd have to do it for everyone.

As someone who's quite familiar with depression amongst some of my loved ones, I can tell you, someone making jokes and looking all happy doesn't mean ****. They might look like they're enjoying themselves when hanging out or something, but that's just a front. One of the most horrible symptoms of clinical depression is the inability to truly feel joy. This ties in with "why would someone commit suicide when he has everything?" If you can't really feel joy, then all that doesn't matter does it?

Why do those people think they have the right to enforce behaviour that will make you go to a place that does not exist?

If I want to go to hell (which also does not exist), that's my choice.

I'm tempted to make a joke here but I'd rather not start a giant religious flamewar.

In my experience most people on the forums are rather scienc-y, but you're right.

science and religion aren't mutually exclusive.

It's sad that the man was dealing with depression. It's sad that a man who earned his money with humor, dies in perfect irony.

I'm not saying everyone who is scienc-y is an atheist, I'm just saying that the number of atheists on this forum is likely to be relatively high.

Quite a lot of scientists, historically and in modern times, are religious. There's a high correlation between the two.

    That's such a horrible stereotype.
