Yeah, I saw the same thing with an astraeus carrying a bot fabber. Astraeus went on its path, the dox went off into space. I love this shot though
Huge sim lags in my last game. Everytime the sim just slows down a lot for a few seconds and then returns to 10fps. Replay "My Games Only" still doesn't work for me... Can't find myself in the list either. Then this has to do for lobby ID: http://pastats.com/chart?gameId=190700 startpa://replay=15213495837696779676 The screenies: Sorry for the amount of screenshots, the lag kept occuring... No server mods. Uberprobe: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/35624709/quick_2014_8_12__21.40.26.upf DxDiag included The physics and navigation sometimes seemed to have huge spikes in the sim. Onetime it was the task plan that was huge in miliseconds. Due the many treads with missing data: performance problems correctly posted?
At least in the second shot, I can tell you what the problem was: So, think of sim performance much like framerate. You have 10 frames per second when things are going well. So each frame can take up to 100ms. See task plan there? It was at 641ms per tick. That means you were getting, just from task plan, reduced to about 1.3 ticks per second on the sim. The more important question is WHY. Someone in your game was doing something very interesting. I'll be looking to find this lobby if I can so we can take a look at the replay, because good grief, that's bad.
If you look at the sim perf when you do that, that's usually hammering navigation/physics, not task plan. Task plan is something else, though we think we know what.
So the issue where the video is playing at the wrong resolution is back. native resolution of my monitor is 1920 x 1080p and videos are playing at 640 x 360. I had to kill PA process in the task manager in order to use my computer. The cursor was still able to move around but could not normally exit PA. I was going through the videos and rapid succession roughly 10 to 30 30 seconds and this caused the UI to lock up.
Its a little weird. Because you tell the same number to move, no lag at all...then stop them group them and then say area patrol and lag like crazy. Soon as you say stop it immediately goes smooth again.
Giving a move command only requires a single flow field to be created across all units in the selection, IIRC. Whereas area command has to create a separate one for each unit.
Is the number in the 'startpa' link not my lobby ID? And yeah game was terrible at the start, later when some players were destroyed the problems dissapeared. Also forgot to mention, my bots were able to walk through some walls the blue player build on the innermost planet. Also thanks for the response, it is nice to have a response when you report things like this
I hope there's still more room for bandwidth improvements. As with several large (mostly) bot armies in a match I started to lag pretty hard.
